It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas

After all this warm weather, we finally woke up Saturday to a blanket of snow. Yeah! It just doesn't feel like December or Christmas until I get some snow. The kids were so excited they were just begging to go out and play in it. So we all bundled up and started our great weekend off building our snowman.. ok it turned out to be a snowwoman. :) We had such a great time and it felt so good to be out in the cold wet snow again, and coming into a nice cup of hot chocolate. You can't get better than that.

Later that night we headed off to my sisters house where we enjoyed a Christmas party with her and my other sister and her family. It was a great time of yummy food, Christmas stories, Christmas crafts and the hit of the night - decorating gingerbread men and cookies. They were so proud of their finished cookies and couldn't wait to eat them. They made me sick just looking at the amount of frosting piled on them. Thanks Heather!

We then drove to Salt Lake City after the party to temple square to see the lights for a few minutes. We also went to meet up with a friend of Beau's whom we haven't seen for about 3 years who had a quick lay over that night. It was great to see how well they are doing. Despite the late night in the freezing cold and trying to keep kids bundled up so they didn't freeze to death, we made it to see "Mary" whom Savannah had been dying to see for the last 2 hours, right before they turned the lights off at 10:00. What a packed day. But what a great day! One of those good ones spent with family.

Isaac turned one yesterday! Hard to believe that it's be a whole year since I was in the hospital with him as the newest member of our family. He has grown so much and is just so much fun lately. Yesterday he was so mad at dad and throwing a tantrum because dad wouldn't let him hold the cupcake with the candle burning in it. As soon as dad gave it to him, he immediately went to town, knowing exactly what you should do with a cupcake. The girls never seemed to really get it. He sure did!
It was a good weekend. A really good one. I love it when they come a long. A time for good memories together and some relaxation. Despite the wonderful weekend today I woke up to nasty head cold and have had a hard time being productive at all. I hate that feeling of moving in slow motion, processing all my thoughts slowly and pure exhaustion. I'm hoping for a better day tomarrow.

What a fun weekend you guys had. Parties and snow and Christmas lights and friends and family. I'm a wee bit jealous.

How did Isaac get to be 1? How is that even possible?

I hate head colds, especially when you feel like you're floating above yourself. I, too, hope your day today is better.

Love your new blog banner too!

What a cute snow woman you guys built! :) That's so fun. Hot chocolate after being out in the cold is the best time.
