Loving These

These are a few things I’m loving lately.

Carina’s work – especially her little paintings and embroidery. Her random as well as symmetrical embroidery patterns are amazing. Gorgeous stuff.

Mimilove’s artwork. What can I say but WOW! I love the combination of her paintings on canvas and the embroidery on top of it. How she even comes up with these is beyond me! You have to check out her others that have sold. If had extra money burning in my pockets, I would love an original. Just finished this book. What an inspiring family. It was a fun quick read, gave me hope that I can handle my kids and what other future ones join our home. Learned a few good tips, had some thoughts to mull over and was just inspired by these guys.

I am counting down the days till this book is released. I loved her Creative Family and can’t wait to check this one out.

I’m now in the middle of this one. Really good so far, thought provoking and so true. It makes me wonder where my PH.D husband will be happier in a year once his degree is earned…. I love this layout by Christy. This girl is a talented Layout Artist. I had to copy this one for inspiration and to keep admiring. I love the way she’s composed the three photos together and yet focusing on the one. Her hanging embellishments. Everything… I love this! Check out her other stuff. She always amazes me.

These have been on sale lately and man they taste so good. Especially with vanilla yogurt mixed with cottage cheese. Yummy! Blueberry pancakes. In Milk. Coated in chocolate…. really yummy!

This is my latest gold find lately. Two books by Danny Gregory. I read about him on the Internet on his two books Creative License and Everyday Matters. So I went and picked them up. The story of how he started to draw when his wife had a tragic accident, and how sketching and drawing New York City saved his life. Inspiring. The Creative License book I have fallen in love with. I've always wanted to be one of those people that had really cool sketchbooks to look at, and yet never kept one. He's inspired me to start, and to start noticing the little things around me, and recording them. So I went and picked up a clean one and the last three days I've made sure I've taken a little bit of time out of the day to sit and sketch something. It has been great.

So if you like to draw, or if you would like to learn how to draw, or you just want to be creative. You have got to go get this book! Just start, he'll teach you basics, plus he teaches you it just doesn't have to be perfect. You'll get better and better as you do it. I promise it's well worth the money, and his sketches throughout the whole book are inspiring if nothing else is!

Some Inspiration

This is it. My all time favorite magazine. I accidentally picked it up on the shelf one day and after flipping through it I had to have it. Then after a couple of months of buying it off the shelf I had to have a subscription. You can find the website here. But honestly.. the website does not give the magazine justice. The visual appeal of the website just isn't quite there, and yet everything it the magazine I can just eat up and not get enough of it. It is a magazine that just feeds my creativity and the artist in me. They always showcase an artist, and they are unique artists, unique in what they design and create. There are always things with home decor, scrapping, paper, shopping, travel, food, sewing.. just eclectic in everything. A creative eclectic! Maybe that is what appeals to me so much. If you haven't seen it yet, go pick it up at the latest magazine stand, and check it out. If your like me in tastes at all, you'll find yourself purchasing it so you can devour it.
